REFRACTARIA S.A

REFRACTARIA, S.A. is a company established in 1948 whose activity is based on the manufacture of refractory materials. REFRACTARIA, SA spreads over an area of 63.000m² of which 21.500 m² are covered.

The production capacity is 30.000 tm per year, of both shaped and unshaped products.

The company has installations suitable for manufacturing of sorts of refractory materials. Some of them are: raw material processing machinery, dosage, weighing and mixing, extruders, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, drying places, tunnel kilns and thermal treatment kilns, a plant for manufacturing unshaped and prefabricated products. 

Other services and departments include:

• Mechanical and assembly shop for mould making and general maintenance.

• Department of quality and environment, responsible for developing the Quality Assurance System within the ISO 9001:2008 and the implementation of the ISO 14000 requirements.

• Quality Control Laboratory, well-equipped in order to execute the control the raw materials as well as products in process and already finished.

It has also a close collaboration with Fundación ITMA, of which Refractaria is a founding member, carrying out non-conventional control testing, control of new materials and R&D projects.
